When Your “Past” Becomes “Baggage”…

Wouldn’t it be cool if we lived in a “Baggage Free” World??  A world filled with people who have “unpacked”, sorted through, and people who have rid themselves of the things in which they shouldn’t carry???  Yeah I know, it would be so cool to just meet people who weren’t carrying years of crap from their childhood, previous relationships, and life in general… You know, healthy people!!!  Unfortunately we live in a world where most people are dealing with “something”…  Whether it’s a broken heart, low self-esteem, trust issues, daddy issues, identity crisis, or issues dealing with needing the approval and acceptance of others…  Don’t get me wrong, we’ve all been through some hard times in our lives, all have a past and there are areas in which we all can improve, but some people have made up in their minds to no longer allow their past to control and dictate who they are…

So what is the purpose of our past???  Is it to make us guarded; live behind a wall; never trust anyone going forward???  Most definitely not…  The problem many people face with their past is they never learn from it…  They take the negative experience and make it their playbook for all future involvement and as a result of this, so many relationships whether it’s platonic or intimate are suffering…  For example, I’m always amazed by how when someone presents an “Act Of Kindness”, the recipient automatically assume there are motives behind it… Whether you believe it or not, there are still good kind heart people in the world…  People who want to see you succeed and are willing to help you reach your goals…  But because of past experiences in which we were let down or hurt, we now punish everyone going forward…

So when does your “past” become “baggage”???  (Click HERE to read more)
