Phoenix White: Beautiful Survivor (Interview – Part 1)

Phoenix White may be one of the 24 ladies vying to win the heart of real estate developer and eligible bachelor Shawn Bullard, on WeTV’s new reality dating show Match Made In Heaven. But if you think she’s just a pretty face with no substance, think again. In fact, her own story is so compelling, she could easily have her own reality show. She’s truly a woman on the move balancing motherhood, acting, singing, writing (get her new book, Redifining Strong), producing, photography, philanthropy and directing. In short, she can do it all. I got a chance to catch up with Phoenix and talk to her about her role on Match Made In Heaven, her personal journey and struggles, dating and who she really is when the cameras are off. Here’s Part 1 of our interview. Look for Part 2 to be posted onwww.DallasBlack.com later today.

P.E.: You are such an accomplished woman. A mother, actress, philanthropist, author, producer, etc. How do you find the time for it all and is there something you’re most passionate about right now?

Phoenix: I don’t sleep very much. I love what I do. I just love to create. I’m actually

working on another reality show on TV too.  (Click “HERE” to read the full interview)

I’ve seen people who are tremendously blessed, yet they’re not satisfied…  In their possession you’ll find nice cars, beautiful homes, great jobs and a wonderful family, but they want more…  Don’t get me wrong, I believe we should all strive for (Click “HERE” to read more)

Purrrfect Paradise Or Not???

So we’ve all seen those HGTV shows that make remodeling your home look like a piece of cake. Even if you have the skills to renovate on your own, there’s still a cost to be paid. Some of the fixer upper properties that look amazing at the end of the project end up costing the price of a car…or even another house. But to each his own. I just don’t know if I would be cut out for that type of expense to be paid. Meet Peter Cohen, who spent $40,000 for home improvements that he won’t get to reap the benefits from. So, who will? His cats.

Peter Cohen and his roommate own 15 rescued cats. He decided to elevate his Goleta, CA home to make it more suitable for his feline friends. Home design website Houzz lets us in on exactly how the finished project looks. I must admit it looks pretty cool. But there’s no way I could eat in this man’s  (Click “HERE” to read more)

The Opinions Of Others…

When I receive a compliment, my normal response is “I just told myself that very thing this morning”.  As a result of this I’ve been told a few times “You’re stuck on yourself”….  Maybe this is true, who knows and who really cares???  I try to stay out of other folks business and what they think of me, is none of my business…  I’ve learned each day there’s a possibility I may be faced with the thoughts of others, so I constantly remind myself of the truth.  Whether it’s positive or negative, there’s a chance someone may gussie up the nerves to speak their mind…  If this should happen, I don’t take it personal… If it’s positive, I don’t take it personal because it’s subject to change…  If it’s negative, I don’t take it personal because it’s subject to change…

Many of you reading this post are living your lives chained to the opinions, thoughts, and words of others…  You were told “You’re nothing”, “You’re stuck on yourself”, “It can’t be done”, and other hope crushing words…  Maybe you were called a whore, B**ch, thug, dog, or some other esteem killing names…  Whatever it may be, you’re allowing their thoughts to alter your life…  You’re (Click “HERE” to read more)

What To Do When No One Buys Into Your Vision

So you’ve finally reached the place where Oprah Winfrey, Joel Osteen, Curtis James Jackson III, Tyler Perry, Steve Jobs, T.D. Jakes, Ray Charles, Bill Gates, Jay Z, and so many other extraordinary people have visited before…  You have a vision, yet no one is buying into it…  Without a doubt you know it’s supposed to come to life…    You plan events, but no one shows up…  You release CD’s, but no one purchases them… You publish books, but no one reads them…  You deliver powerful messages, but no one is there to hear them… You’ve done everything you know to do, but you’re the only one who can see the potential and limitless possibilities of your vision…

You’re beginning to feel you’re crazy, getting tired of continuing on a path that seems to be going nowhere, and there have been a few times you’ve even doubted (Click “HERE” to read more)

Why We Must Own Our Past…

It’s funny how God open doors, yet we’re afraid to walk through them…  Doors we’ve asked to be opened to take us higher in our careers, ministries, and life in general…  We’re afraid of what’s before us and sadly to say, afraid of what’s behind us…  We’re afraid our tarnished past, shameful mistakes and dark secrets will expose the corpse hidden deeply in our closet…  We doubt ourselves, and many of you have walked away from things that could have changed your life because you fear people won’t accept or believe the change you’ve made to your life.

Did you know because of your past, you are who you are today?  I don’t care how dark of a secret it may be, it’s a part of your sketch and what you choose to do with it is up to you…

Where many of us go wrong is we allow our past to own us opposed to owning it…  We allow it (Click “Here” to read more)
