“Don’t Like It, Don’t Look”

I am always having moments. Epiphanies if you will. Moments in my life when things seem clear, just moments of clarity. This morning while I was getting ready for work I was putting trying clothes trying to find something that looked good to me. Throwing shirt after shirt on the bed. Just wanting to find something comfortable but stylish. Something figure flattering.

Now I know you can’t see me but if the picture didn’t give it away let me let you know I am a big girl. I am plus size beauty. Why am I telling you this? So you will understand why I am saying what I am saying and understand this moment of clarity. I’m not saying skinny women can’t have moments of clarity regarding their bodies. I’m sure they do all the time. However I can’t speak about something that I have never been. I can only speak on what I know and my struggle.

Anyway I settled on black tight pants, a green tank top, a multi colored asymmetric sweater and black leather riding boots. Put my hair in bun, put on some makeup and accessories, done. After putting everything together I took a look in the mirror and thought to myself “D… you look good and if someone doesn’t like it forget them”. Now I didn’t use those words per say but you understand.

“I’m Rubber, You’re Glue”

I was sitting in my car waiting for my mother to come out of the store. To pass the time I started reading a book downloaded on my phone. I was so deep into the book I hadn’t realized a car had pulled into the parking space next to me until I heard a man’s voice that was getting out of the car. He said “You always talk about how smart you are yet you never know when to shut up.” His tone was very mean and very cutting. I felt a stab and he wasn’t even talking to me.

I wondered who is he talking too. Whoever it was I never heard arebuttal.  Anyway curiosity got the best of me and I looked into the side mirror of my car and standing beside him was a young girl. She was probably between 11 and 13 years old. She had her head hanging down and looked totally defeated.

Instantly my heart broke for her because in essence her father had just called her stupid. Two other kids got of the car. All three walked behind their dad not with pride but with defeated posture. Kind of withdrawn, shoulder slumped and hands tucked in their pockets. That made me think what other harsh words have these kids been subject too. How are these words effecting them daily? How will these words effect them as they get older?

“Knocked Down, But Not Knocked OUT…”

From time to time you may feel as though life has thrown a punch you didn’t see coming your way.   The blow was so hard it brought you to your knees.  Bruised, beaten, broken, battered, tired, hurt and you’re living in a world filled with pain, how will you survive?  Survive the shame of being knocked down; the embarrassment of failure, and the disappointment of being unprepared.  How do you recoup, rebuild, and revive after life has hit you so hard you’re unable to walk in the little faith you have left.  You’ve prepared yourself for disappointment, trained your heart to dodge the blows of hurt, but out of nowhere you were hit and it feel like God didn’t stand in the gap to take (protect) this blow for you .

You’re down for the count and honestly you’re not feeling nor wanting to fight anymore.  You’ve decided to lay there, surrender, and lose the fight…  But God is saying, GET UP and GET BACK INTO THE FIGHT…  The truth is..  You’ve trained for (Click here to read more…  http://TheTruthBowl.com )

“You Can’t Change Yesterday And You Aren’t In Control Of Tomorrow”

Many of you are living in the past and future.   “When this happened” and “When this happens” has occupied your mind and because of this you’re missing out on “What’s happening” right now at this very moment.  There are so many wonderful things going on around you, yet you can’t see them because you’re focused on what’s behind and the fear of what’s ahead.  Right now you’re missing the joy of being with family, laughing (Click here to read more… http://TheTruthBowl.com )
