“STOP Waiting and START Working”

Truth: “Good things come to those who wait, but greater things come to those who work.” Patrick J. Diggs

There are so many of you “waiting” on God to do things in your life. You’ve asked for a better job, new home, new car, improved marriage or possibly deliverance from a horrible marriage, but what are you doing while you’re waiting? Are you sitting on the couch counting down the minutes, days, weeks, months and for some of you, years while waiting on God to answer your prayers? It’s great you have faith in God’s ability to do exceedingly and abundantly more than you could ever ask for, but faith without “works” is VOID….

You’ve asked God for a new job, have you ever considered while you’re waiting for the door to open, YOU should open the door to higher learning? You know like, go back to school and equip yourself for the job you truly want…

You’ve asked God for a new home, have you ever considered while you’re waiting for the keys to your new home, YOU should repair the home you already have the keys too? You know like, fix the things depreciating(Click here to read more…. http://www.TheTruthBowl.com )

“T.M.I.: Shut Up, You Talk Too Much”

Did you know sharing your dreams can be detrimental? Giving too much information regarding your plans can kill them before you even start? Well it’s true, sometimes we share too much information with people. We share our dreams, visions, plans and because of their own personal agenda, they discourage us in some way or another. Everyone can’t handle your dreams, see the vision you’ve been given, nor can they overlook their own fears when listening to your desires. In no way are we implying everyone is out to get you, but fear and doubt can be planted in your mind without you even knowing it.

“Fear” in so many ways has been masked by the words “Morals” and “Advice”. We share with family and friends hoping for encouragement, yet we receive a cup filled with discouragement. Because of their love, concern and inability to see our path, seeds of doubt and fear are planted in the soil of our mind. We trust their “advice” and depend on our “morals”, yet our vision is now somewhat blurred.

Then there are those competitors we’re unaware of. Those who (Click here to read more…. http://www.TheTruthBowl.com )

“I’m Screaming, But No One Can Hear Me”

An excerpt from “Naked” ( http://www.TheTruthBowl.com/Store.html )

As I sat at my desk, I realized this was something I needed to share. At the time I didn’t know why, but I’m certain I do now. I’m hoping by the time you finish reading, you will too.

Being in leadership, church, and the music ministry most of my life, I’ve discovered how to lie and how to be the best at it. If I had to rate myself from 1-10, I would probably be a 9.999. Before you judge me, I didn’t steal anything, nor did I do anything wrong. The lie I perfected was a simple “smile”. I know you’re probably wondering where I’m going with this, but be patient with me, we’ll get there.

My “smile” told the lie everything was going great for me. That I had no cares in the world and I was  (Click here to read more…. http://www.TheTruthBowl.com )

“Don’t Be “Intimidated”, Be “Inspired”

Why are you intimidated by her? Is it because your husband likes thin women and over the years you’ve picked up a little weight? Is it because she’s always dressed nice and you’re wearing stretch pants and a sweat top? Or is it because she reminds you of the woman you used to or want to be?

Why are you intimidated by him? Is it because everyone loves him? He’s only worked there six months and management has taken interest in him? Is it because his strengths have exposed your weaknesses? Or is it because he reminds you of the man you used to or want to be?

Have you ever wondered why people are intimidated by you? You do nothing but be yourself, yet they are threatened by the person you are? Well in life you will find there are those people who “coast” and those who are “challenged”. The key ingredient that separates the two is the desire for improvement. The “coaster” is the person who’s been around for awhile. They’re complacent, satisfied and have reached a level in which they believe is their peak. They’re “Mr. or Mrs. Big Stuff” and everyone has deemed them the best thing to happen since “Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles”. Sadly to say, the “coaster” is content and happy until YOU SHOW UP…

Your authenticity(Click here to read more…. http://www.TheTruthBowl.com )

“Destiny Hasn’t Stopped, You Have”

Life has taken an unexpected turn. It seems this same day last year you were headed in a completely different direction. Things were looking up, but today you find yourself uncertain of your next move. What should you do? Should you break down and cry? Blame everyone for your current situation? Sit down and do nothing?

“Et Tu Brute”

Image

The two most famous stories of betrayal deals with mean whose initials were J. C.  Nothing hurts more than the betrayal of a friend…in high school you may remember reading the story of Julius Caesar, if so, you remember the famous line “Et Tu Brute” which means “Even you, Brutus?”  A questioned asked by Julius Caesar as he was repeatedly stabbed not only by his enemies, but his good friend Brutus as well.    Many of you don’t have to imagine how Julius Caesar felt because you know exactly how it feels to be betrayed.  To have a friend stab you in your back, use what was confided as a weapon, sleep with your partner and to have your trust abused. You know what it feels like to be smiled at, yet when you walk away; daggers are placed in your back.

We all have a “Brutus” in our lives… Maybe your “Brutus” is a friend, co-worker, boss, church member or sadly to say, a family member.  Every “Brutus” is not there to stab us in our back; some of them dig ditches hoping we’re going to fall into them.   The most noted betrayal of all times is the betrayal of Jesus Christ.  Yep Jesus, He even had a Brutus and his name was Judas.  Betrayed with a simple kiss and for a measly 30 pieces of silver, Judas sold Jesus out…    So if Jesus could be betrayed, you know your chances are pretty high….

You’re wondering where we’re going with this, so let us get straight to the point…    There are going to be people you know and some you don’t who will attempt to set you up, assassinate your character and dig ditches for you to fall in.  They’re going to smile in your face, listen to your dreams and aspirations and when they feel the time is right, they’re going to stab you in your back with lies, rumors and gossip. You may even feel like Julius Caesar and think “Et Tu” (Even you)… But the difference between you and Julius is, you know something he didn’t…

“It Hurts Like Hell…”

“Letting go” isn’t always easy… To be brutally honest, sometimes it hurts like hell… In those moments you find yourself hurting, ask if “letting go” hurt as much as “holding on”?

Many times we hold on to people begging to be freed. They’re fighting for their freedom, but we’re fighting to keep them in our lives. Keeping them only causes you more grief and pain. In these moments, SET THEM FREE and you both walk through the door of a better future…

Then there are those times we hold onto things that add no value to our lives. Things that physically and mentally hurt, causing us to question our own self-worth. The hidden truth many fail to see is if something/someone is not adding value, it’s depreciating you… Appraise how much you mean to yourself and cut the losses you’re holding on to….
